I realize not everyone is so lucky, buy my FRG is really fantastic! The ladies are great and their gift ideas are AWESOME. This idea I snagged from one of the Army wives who is doing the same for her hubby.
Sending mail overseas takes a while. So if my soldier is having a particularly bad day, it might be on a day that is not mail day. To remedy this situation, I picked up a few (ok, over 40) cards for him to have on hand whenever he might need one! I am in the process of writing messages in all of them. This way, whenever he's in need of a message from home, he has one waiting on hand.
I labeled the envelopes -- some for a specific date, some for whenever -- so he would know when he can open them. I sent three with him to tide him over when he left earlier this month, but plan to deliver the rest the next time I get to see him (which is coming soon)!

This is great! My husband is in the Navy- on a sub. So I really won't get to see him or hear from him when it is his turn for deployment. I like the dates and "open me when you need a smile."
ReplyDeleteAnd congrats on getting your soldier back. :)
I'm glad you love the idea! And thank you =)
Deletei did this as well when my boyfriend was deployed also in the navy on a sub sub and he loved them :) it was our first deployment and he said it helped he when he worried about how i was doing.
